I slept pretty well last night. I do have some pain and swelling but it isn't too bad. I had a hearty breakfast of applesauce and antibiotic. Yum!

Sam's first birthday is Tuesday. I can't believe it has been a year already! I'm glad I decided to wait until at least next weekend to celebrate, because there is no way I'll be up for it this weekend.

Sam has recently discovered saying Mom. As in, "Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom!" over and over again and often for no discernible reason. He really likes to say, "No!" Another favorite activity is to yell "Dance, dance dance!" whilst doing some kind of funky little jig. He'll also clap his hands and say "Yay" at the drop of a hat. He is very enthusiastic, our Sam.

I'm not sure if I have mentioned it before, but Sam still believes all clothing to be an unnecessary form of cruelty inflicted on him by me. He hasn't figured out how to strip yet, but makes sure his objections are known as I dress him. I keep thinking of the "Naked Tommy" episode of Rugrats.
